담아내다 is
寫眞은 카메라로 쓰는 이야기다.
사진 촬영 작업을 “찍는다”라고 표현합니다.
찍는다는 것은
똑같은 모양의 벽돌이나 붕어빵을 찍어내듯이
있는 그대로 베낀다는 뜻입니다.
寫眞(사진)이라는 한자 뜻은 “사물을 그대로 복사한다”. 있는 그대로 나오게 찍는 게
사진이라는 뜻입니다.
사진이 발명된 서양에서는
사진을 “Photograph”라고 말합니다.
“빛(Photo) + 그리는 작업(Graph)” 즉,
빛으로 그리는 작업을 의미합니다.
이와 같이 우리가 말하는 사진과 서양의 사진은 의미가 조금 다릅니다.
우리에게 寫眞이랄 것은 단순하게
‘그대로 찍는 것’으로 자리 잡았습니다.
"담아내다 사진관"은 말 그대로 단순하게
寫眞을 단순하게 찍는 것이 아닌,
寫眞을 다양하게 만들어가고 싶습니다.
좋은 寫眞이라는 것은 어려운 기술의 작업이 아닌
사소한 피사체에 작가의 이야기를 담아내는 과정에서 만들어진다고 생각합니다.
단순히 피사체를 그대로 담으려는 자세에서 벗어나
소설가가 이야기를 꾸며가듯이
작가의 생각과 느낌을 그대로 담아 촬영하겠습니다.
